job summary:

HEAD OF CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT

A well-recognized mechanical service provider that focuses on the Power Generation and Transportation Sectors, has an excellent new opportunity for a Project Manager. This role would be responsible for a variety of projects including new construction, plant upgrades, turnkey projects, subcontracting support services, and outage and maintenance services. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the construction project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, subcontractors, suppliers, proposals, estimates, and client relations management
  • Provide oversight to ensure all commercial, schedule, contractual terms, budget, and reporting requirements are met
  • Ensure company Standard Operating Instructions, Contract Plans, Specifications, and Terms and Conditions, are in compliance with set requirements
  • Develop construction staffing plans, train project teams, and facilitate efficient cost-effective utilization of staff while adhering to contractual and performance requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain project budget and schedule of values
  • Prepare monthly cost data reports
  • Monitor project performance and cost and provide timely notice and recommended corrective actions for poor performance and budget overruns to management
  • Analyze construction documents, drawings, and schedules; forecast any possible field problems. Recognize discrepancies between construction documents and field conditions
  • Respond to client complaints, concerns, directives, or requests
  • Review manpower and schedule requirements with field superintendents
  • Review construction bulletins and RFIs and when applicable, create and process proposed change order

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS in Engineering.
  • Experience in Construction Management and overseeing high volume projects
  • 10+ years of experience in the project management.
  • Project Management experience in transportation facilities would be a plus
  • Union experience in the constructions sector
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge/Understanding of cost, schedule, contract, technical, and claims
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task
  • Expert level Excel skills. Experience using all Microsoft Office applications. Viewpoint, Primavera, Procore, and Bluebeam
