job summary:

HR Business Partner

CPA Firm seeking an HR Business Partner (HRBP) for a Direct Hire position. This newly created position is responsible for aligning firm objectives with employees and management in designated practice areas. The position will be reporting to the Division Head and HR Director.

responsibilities:
  • Consults with department management and Partners, providing HR advice and counsel
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Provides guidance and input on retention strategies and succession planning.
  • Identifies training needs for departments and individual coaching needs.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. PHR certification preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Human Resources with steady progression and experience in multi HR disciplines, including Employee Relations, Performance Management, Compensation, Onboarding, HRIS etc.. Experience in financial or professional services desirable but not required.
  • Demonstrated competencies including customer service, collaboration, effective communication skills (written and verbal), and the ability to influence others to adopt a course of action on critical, complex or sensitive information. Excellent presentation, facilitation, and listening skills are a must.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Federal and CA employment laws and regulations.
