Manager of Income Tax & Compliance - Hybrid - 3 Days in the office

With guidance from the Chief Client Officer, the Manager will work closely with the Trust Department and third-party income tax return preparers to assure and direct the Company's timely compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations applicable to the income taxation of the Company's fiduciary accounts. The Manager will oversee and coordinate the preparation and filing of all fiduciary tax returns with third-party income tax return preparers.

responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Company's relationship with primary fiduciary income tax return preparers and liaise with secondary preparers selected by clients.
  • Analyze and interpret trust instruments and related documents to determine proper tax classification of each account and attendant reporting obligations; establish and maintain current records of same.
  • Work with Trust Department to organize and coordinate the delivery of financial records to all tax preparers for preparation of estimated and final income tax returns; Review and oversee timely filing of all returns
  • Monitor changes in laws that could affect Company's accounts; provide timely updates to Trust Officers and senior management.
 
qualifications:

Duties/Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree, together with at least 5 years' experience as a practicing accountant in the fiduciary income tax area, or similar experience through a private banking or trust department engagement with respect to high-net-worth clients, is required.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Effective communicator and have the ability to successfully manage multiple priorities
  • Some management experience ++
