Paper Machine Supervisor - Kalamazoo, MI

We're looking for a Manufacturing Plant HR Manager for a major client who manufactures paper products. They are installing a major new paper making machine in the plant and are looking for a Paper Machine Supervisor to oversee the operation of the machine and manage the team that will assist in that effort.

This role is located in the Kalamazoo, MI area and relocation assistance is available if needed.

responsibilities:

KPIs:

- Supervise and facilitate the day-to-day team shift activities

- Oversee scheduling, material handling, maintenance, and resolution of production problems

- Assure the team maintains quality standards and uses SPC techniques for problem resolution

- Ensure product quality, production efficiencies, and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards

- Be directly accountable for expenditures within budgeted levels

- Must be supportive and involved in efforts for LEAN, 5's, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes

- Must be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, must be faster than a speeding bullet and able to display skills and traits of a superhero

 
qualifications:

Background and experience targets:

- BS in Paper Science, Chemical, or other engineering degree

- Continuous Improvement - Lean Six-Sigma knowledge and experience preferred

- 5-8+ years' paper mill experience

- Solid organization and project management skills

- Excellent written and oral communications skills

- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other software applications as required

Compensation:

- $85K-$105K+

- Excellent benefits

- Potential relocation assistance if needed
