job summary:

Tatum is recruiting for a Payroll Manager for a 3+ month project to assist a nationwide hospitality organization that has over 25,000 employees with various payroll projects, which include year-end payroll reporting, and compliance activities.

This is a remote position that has a pay range of $40-$50/hr. based on experience.

  • Preparation of annual payroll tax report packages (including 1099's, W2's, W2C's)
  • Translate company policies, tax and legislative requirements to ensure delivery of accurate and timely employee payments, reporting, compliance with applicable regulations, and internal controls; compiles reporting for earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages, etc.
  • Be the in-house technical "expert" relating to all payroll and compliance matters
  • Advises departments on payroll and taxation issues, policies and procedures; assists in the maintenance of proper budgetary controls
  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure all payroll tables are properly updated and that staff are aware of any changes that might affect payroll administration or policy
  • Identify and recommend areas within business processes that can be improved via systems enhancements and automation
  • Other payroll related projects as needed
  • 10+ years of full-cycle payroll experience within a multi-state environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field required
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) Certification highly desired
  • Experience/knowledge of compensation/wage structure, benefits administration, worker's compensation, employment law, etc.; knowledge of state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to payroll required
  • Experience working with Lawson and Kronos preferred
