Payroll Supervisor

Currently seeking a Payroll Supervisor for the team to oversee the union payroll process for a mid-size, very profitable construction company. Position would support the payroll process for 300 employees, manage all reporting, payroll processing, reconciliations, and various payroll audits. Great overall team and hiring manager. responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee weekly in-house payroll for a ~300 employee General Contractor (includes union employees)
  • Manage the Timecard reporting process
  • Prepare manual payroll check runs for field employees
  • File Federal, State, and Local payroll tax reports (CA & MT)
  • Partner with HR to facilitate employee onboarding, offboarding, and benefit administration
  • Supervise the Certified Payroll and DIR reporting process
  • Maintain Union and Prevailing Wage Rates
  • Reconcile Union Trust Fund statements
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and union payroll, wage, and hour laws
  • Setup and maintain tax tables, add-ons, and deductions in the payroll ERP
  • Oversee statutory and job specific payroll audits
 
qualifications:

Required Experience, Traits, & Skills:

  • 4+ years' experience in payroll related responsibilities
  • Prior work experience in the construction industry
  • Experience using certified payroll reporting software a plus (LCP Tracker)
  • Proven track record of Leading payroll operations for a large, complex payroll operation with focus on timely and accurate operations
  • Capable of supervising staff
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly MS Excel
  • Highly organized, energetic, focused, and detail oriented
  • Self-directed with a high level of initiative and a 'can do' attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Highly resourceful problem solver
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable and concise communication and presentation skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Poised and mature attitude, always remaining calm under pressure
  • Experience and a commitment to delivering excellence in customer service
  • Reliable and dedicated to the success of the team
  • Solid understanding of confidentiality
  • Willing and able to be cross-trained and take on a variety of tasks

Desirable Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

  • College Degree and/or Certification in Accounting
  • Experience with Construction Accounting
  • Experience with Sage or Viewpoint software
