job summary:

FT DIRECTOR OF NURSING (DON) M-F WITH NO WEEKEND HOURS COMBINATION HOME-BASED AND ON-SITE WORK MODEL -

A skilled DON is needed to join a client in Boston that provides case management, service planning, and social support services to its consumers. The Agency's rich 40-year history in the greater Boston area includes services to communities as diverse as East Boston, Charlestown, the North End, Chinatown, Beacon Hill, the West End, South Boston, Dorchester, Mattapan, and other surrounding communities. Our caring and engaged, diverse staff, speak twenty seven (27) different languages which ensures our consumers receive quality and culturally competent care.

The DON has overall responsibility for the client's clinical assessment and eligibility, as well as a highly comprehensive screening model service. The DON is a member of the Agency's Leadership Team and will engage in cross-functional collaboration with other program leadership to promote communication, innovation, consumer engagement, knowledge sharing, organizational and team spirit. The Nursing Director must be a leader who can mentor their staff and provide growth and development opportunities to help them reach their potential and to successfully deliver on program goals and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and strategies to improve current services as well as developing and managing a supportive quality assurance program; develop and maintain systems for tracking strategic care goals; provide thought leadership and guidance to the organization around current health and wellness best practices. The DON, with three (3) direct reports, will work closely with the COO and staff to ensure all care services are of the highest quality and are delivered to Agency consumers in a caring, compassionate, and efficient manner.

QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse with current Massachusetts license, BSN required but MSN is preferred. Must have at least three (3) years experience as a registered nurse in a community, home care, or long-term care setting, and two (2) to three (3) years managerial experience. Strong management, coaching, and leadership skills required.

  • Strong supervisory, coaching and leadership skills with an ability to develop personnel as well as manage programs and institutionalize regulatory compliance throughout each program.
  • Flexibility in adjusting to an evolving job role and change management.
  • Ability to develop innovative programs that respond to the current needs of the health care environment pertaining to older adults and individuals with disabilities.
  • Financial management, program budgeting and quantitative skills.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills.
