responsibilities:

The plant controller role within wood products has as its primary accountability financial leadership in the wood products plants.

- Providing financial analysis and guidance for the plant manager and leadership teams

- Quarterly forecasting - account level and labor efficiency forecast develop mentation

- Capital projects - performing analysis on advisability of expenditure via ROI calculations. Ensuring that proper documentation is provided to expenditure committee.

- Work with plant managers to conceive, analyze, and drive to completion all profit over achievement opportunities

- Provide counsel on inventory levels at plant and associated exposure risk

- Actively support the physical inventory counts and cycle counts

- Period end activities for labor and burden line.

- Report on plant performance/variances at monthly close meetings and in operations staff meetings

- Serve as key member of leadership teams

- Drive DPC analysis and work cell levels

 
qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Management required

- 5-7 Years of Financial Analysis and Leadership Experience, with some being manufacturing-related

- Excellent data skills (Excel, ERP, Access)

- Presentation skills

- Strong Business Acumen - ability to see the big picture as well as the pillars of detail that support it

- Strong Leadership Skills - ability to influence both direct reports and senior executives with conviction and empathy; a sense of passion strong enough to be seen as an "evangelist" for critical strategic direction

- Managerial Courage - willing and able to communicate good and bad news to all levels of the organization

- Strategic Vision - able to craft a strategic direction for both staffing needs and business decisions

- Integrity - trusted by the plant managers, ops director, and finance team as the final word on all plant-related financial information

- Strong work ethic with a sense of working for the greater good of the team

- Strong Analytical Skills - both "big picture" and detailed, including ability to master Excel, Access, Powerpoint, OBIEE, and EOE/M/F/D/V/SO
