My client is looking for a Senior Project Controller in Jacksonville, FL (must be local to Jacksonville, FL) that is interested in a exciting position that will lead multiple projects through utilizing WIP, project accounting and managing division financials. This position will require experience in traditional manufacturing/construction, plant controllership and project-based accounting. The ideal candidate must be strong and able to interact with executive level leadership in order to manage hands-on manufacturing performance evaluation to improve operations. Role and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop Project Management Office financial reporting by gaining institutional knowledge and enhancing efficient business processes and procedures. Providing in-depth analysis of projects with detailed costs and information to make improved business decisions.
  • Conduct status meetings, monthly updates and quarterly meetings that report on performance, issues and continuous improvement. Supporting PMO team members by conducting project evaluations, providing financial information and assessments to ensure the project methodology is being followed and projects are being implemented and executed according to company's plan and guidelines.
  • Scrutinize and analyze current procedures and processes for compliance with GAAP and IFRS regulations and develop or modify as needed. Create documentation of processes and procedures for complete understanding by all involved parties, and recommend changes and improvements as the program evolves.
  • Track, monitor and report to PMO and upper level Management (Magnitude) project forecasts, manage budgets to actual expenses and budget variances. Provide financial support and information to individual PMO team members as they manage their projects.
  • Conduct project audits to ensure data integrity, consistency and standardization. Interact closely with PO Manager/Director, PMOs, Finance and leaders across the organization to assist in project governance to provide accurate and complete financial records. Work with internal and external auditors providing analysis and reconciliations.
  • Manage and continue to develop ESS division financials, assist controller to create ESS budget, forecast and conduct actual vs budget and forecast variance analysis. Report ESS specific financials in Magnitude.
  • Train and manage Financial Accountant to assist in the above, manage fixed assets in FAS system, provide impairment reporting to corporate, manage CER/PER electronic process providing training and assistance as needed to users and maintain Grant Recovery analysis and reporting.

Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10 years progressive experience
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to construct advanced spreadsheets
  • Business process implementation and maintenance
  • Understanding of basic project management principles
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Cross-functional problem solving; analytical approach to issue identification and resolution
  • Detail oriented; with ability to articulate top level management
