job summary:

Well established Real Estate Management Company has an immediate need to hire a skilled Property Accountant. The Property Accountant will work closely with the Controller and Assistant to Controller to handle all day to day accounting and finance functions for a portfolio of Residential and Commercial properties.

responsibilities:
  • Manage company-wide real estate tax schedule and ensure payments are made timely.
  • Prepare quarterly lender reports. Ensure DSCR and other covenants are met prior to issuing reports.
  • Review and process monthly management fee expense calculations.
  • Review and post AP entries entered by AP.
  • Assist with updating tenant leases, new tenant setups, creating/maintaining tenant charges in Yardi.
  • Review and post cash receipts entries that are processed by AR.
  • Review tenant move in/outs and ensure that security deposits are processed in a timely manner.
  • Review and analyze Rent Roll, and assist with the preparation of monthly tenant statements.
  • Work with Property Managers and office staff to answer questions relating to tenant charges, lease expiration dates, lease renewals, and new tenant set ups.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly financial reporting package, including, but not limited to: adjusting entries, RE Taxes, PPD Insurance, intercompany-cash transactions and equity funding reconciliations.
  • Review and prepare monthly variance analysis.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by upper management.
  • Prepare true-up of CAM and RE tax.
  • Effectively communicate with other departments to ensure all accounting matters are properly addressed.
 
qualifications:

Ideal Candidate will have

  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 2-5 years experience working for a Real Estate Management Company
  • Yardi or Timberline experience desired
