POSITION: Regional Ocean Product Manager- Global Forwarding

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Operations

Leading international logistics provider has an exceptional opportunity for a Manager to take over responsibility for Ocean Product for the Northeast U.S. Territory.. The Regional Ocean Product Manager will be responsible for leading the division to excellence in areas of Profitability, Efficiency, Quality, and Exceeding Customer Expectations. Additionally the Regional Ocean Product Manager also be responsible for assuring regional targets are met throughout the branch network, setting regional budgets, and motivating and leading branch and department managers to highest levels of performance.

Key responsibility will be to negotiate and establish set rates with Ocean Carriers. Additionally, the Product Manager will ensure metrics are put in place and hold managers accountable in the areas of budget targets, invoice turnaround, aging of internal and external accounts receivable, open file time, P&L responsibilities, and number of shipments per trade lane in all modes of transportation. . Follow-up on exceptions and deviations to secure continuous development, quality improvement and profitability improvements, and securing proper and timely training and information that affects the regional performance will also be responsibilities of this role. The Product Manager will be involved in yearly reviews of divisional and branch managers, and will actively be involved with the senior executive team in the company decision making process. The Regional Ocean Product Manager will be involved in some client facing intiatives

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree in Business or Economics or equivalent work experience, will have a minimum of ten years of business related experience with a focus on managing the ocean product for international forwarders. A strong background in the international transportation and logistics industry, superior communication and interpersonal skills are required for this role. Candidates with coaching experience, tactical and analytical awareness, quality driven, profound understanding of client relationships and company objectives, will be considered for this opportunity.
