Currently working with a growth publicly traded insurance/financial services company that is currently looking for a Revenue Accounting Manager that can help manage their revenue accounting and reinsurance functions for the company. Position will manage a team of 3-5 staff and be a major part of the finance team. This role will also be a key part of some major initiatives and growth projects. Revenue Accounting Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Revenue Accounting position is a part of the Finance team and will participate in the monthly close on a GAAP and Statutory basis, establishing accounting policies, support best practices with a primary focus on Revenue and Reinsurance accounting areas.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in all aspects of the monthly financial close processes.
  • Manage various functional or operational areas within accounting, which could include revenue, reinsurance, and reserves.
  • Provide support to SEC filing and reporting requirements.
  • Support the preparation of the audited statutory statements, audited GAAP statements and various state filings.
  • Work with the management team to identify and analyze key operating metrics and prepare reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support the maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, priorities, and procedures.
  • Provide oversight and support for SOX and MAR 205 documentation.
  • Hire, train and develop members of the Corporate Accounting team.
  • Coordinate with other reporting groups to ensure consistent reporting.
  • Lead and support ad hoc projects as required.
  • Perform ad hoc responsibilities, as needed.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Minimum of six years of industry or public accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of statutory and GAAP accounting.
  • Analyzes and interprets information accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively at all levels within the organization.
  • Able to identify and prioritize problems and recommend solutions.
  • Completes work in a timely manner and meets deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information and uses information appropriately.
