job summary:

Tatum by Randstad is recruiting for a Senior Accountant - Mergers & Acquisitions/Technical Accounting with previous M&A accounting experience. This is a hybrid working situation and the ideal candidate must be based out of Baltimore, MD or Phoenix, AZ. The Senior Accountant will assist in the preparation of financial statements, on-boarding of new acquisitions, integrated revenue/expense analysis, develop projections, reporting, and ensure the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.

  • Complete opening balance sheet, documentation, and accounting conversion for new acquisitions.
  • Perform TESTING procedures from Seller's data.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation for all transactions, correspondence etc.
  • Calculate and post all monthly journal entries for assigned entities (full-cycle close responsibility) while adhering to established accounting standards and procedures.
  • Record all cash activity and reconcile monthly bank statements (including research of outstanding checks and the recording of any reconciling items).
  • Perform complete and thorough month-end review of all financial statements (General Ledger, Income Statement, and Balance Sheet).
  • Maintain detailed Balance Sheet reconciliation schedules.
  • Review and address questions related to financials from management and partners.
  • Distribute final financial statements both internally and to external parties.
  • Work with internal and external auditors on various accounting issues.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with M&A experience (opening balance sheet, accounting conversion).
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; MBA and/or CPA highly preferred.
  • Must have experience working with publicly traded companies OR public accounting with publicly traded companies.
  • Able to articulate knowledge of Internal Controls, SOX and GAAP
  • Must be able to work a Hybrid Schedule (2-3 days in office weekly) and be located in the Baltimore, MD area.

Compensation is up to 100k + up to a 7.5% bonus
