Senior Accountant, Reporting

We seek a Senior Accountant who will play a key role in the success of our global audits and reporting. The person will work across HQ departments and with field offices to get the auditors and internal customers what they need when they need it. Help prepare tax returns, and take on special projects to implement new accounting standards and streamline audit processes.

responsibilities:

-Gather all deliverables for the consolidated, single, and global funder audits, from field offices and HQ, review for completeness and accuracy, provide them to auditors, answer questions, track the status of open deliverables, escalate as needed.

-Review engagement letters, management letters, compile management responses to audit findings, and update monitoring database.

-Assist in preparing schedules for Form 990 and 990T, and prepare annual submission to Federal Audit Clearinghouse.

-Support the Senior Accountant Financial Reporting to learn the role and serve as a backup.

 
qualifications:

-Bachelor's Degree (or international equivalent) in a related field

-At least 2 years of accounting experience.

-At least 1 year of Public Accounting experience in an audit firm preferred

-Solid knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and donor financial and accounting requirements and regulations.

-Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills. French and/or Spanish language skills preferred.

-Proficient in MS Office Suite with strong Excel skills preferred (e.g., familiarity with pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs and other fomulas).
