SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - Wilmington, DE

Our client is 50 year old, very successful family owned business focusing on site construction, self-storage, real estate development and home building. They are currently in need of a Senior Accountant to join their growing team!

This is an excellent opportunity which includes a succession plan, as well as the opportunity to gain experience in intercompany accounting across four business divisions.

    responsibilities:
    • Actively learn various business lines within Corporate Group
    • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to book of accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions
    • Prepare monthly reports into excel spread sheet for analysis
    • Verify and reconcile contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepare reports to substantiate transactions.
    • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports.
    • Understand monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
    • Work with accounting team to continually improve efficiency of accounting department
    • Prepare analysis of business trends and profitability analysis within divisions
    • Assist with implementing and monitoring internal financial controls and procedures.
     
    qualifications:
    • A Bachelor's degree in accounting, or a Bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Must be highly skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
    • Ability to work on multiple projects and grow to thoroughly understand multiple business lines
    • Experience with improving processes through software integration
    • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
    • Knowledge of finance principles
    • Knowledge of financial reporting
