job summary:

Tatum by Randstad is working with a Boulder based manufacturing/technology company currently expanding their accounting department. They are actively seeking a Senior Accountant to join the team and work full time in their office in Boulder. This person will hit the ground running while performing advanced and specialized accounting assignments, usually involving complex and confidential data. Obtain and analyze financial information to prepare reports, statements and recommendations. May also provide special project assistance to the CFO, Controller and/or CEO. responsibilities:
  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions.
  • Distributes expenditures, encumbrances, receipts, and receivables according to schedules.
  • Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.
  • Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected financial position for managers.
  • Audits contracts, orders, and vouchers, and prepares reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
  • Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.
  • Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
  • Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Documents, and coordinates implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
  • Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.
  • Ability to multitask by working in a face paced, constantly changing environment
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability and willingness to meet deadlines imposed by monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-close activities through preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly close reporting
  • Preparation and coordination of the monthly financial results and the identification and reporting of key monthly expenses
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned General Ledger accounts
  • Responsible for the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Identifies and resolves complex accounting transactions and processes and is responsible for the creation and publication of detailed financial and operating metrics.
  • Manages multi-state monthly Sales and Use Tax returns
  • Assist in management of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Assist in bank and corporate audits
  • Compose ad hoc reports and/or spreadsheets as needed and requested by management
  • Evaluate and offer suggestions to process improvements and evaluate financial internal controls. Test and ensure compliance to established internal control procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field plus 4 years related industry experience
  • Thorough understanding of the total account process flow
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journal, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Ability to respond to various inquiries from a variety of sources.
  • Ability to use all standard office equipment including personal computers and Microsoft Office
  • Superior Excel skills required
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations as appropriate to complete tasks
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with multiple deadlines
  • Methodical and a detail-oriented approach to work by organizing and prioritizing
  • Communicate effectively (both oral and written)
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team
  • Experience in a production/Manufacturing environment strongly desired
  • Have experience researching and preparing accounting analysis for complex and technical transactions
  • Financial Planning and Analysis experience a plus
  • Must be confident in GAAP standards

The client would obviously highly prefer someone who already lives North of Denver near Boulder.

Base salary range of $90-$95,000
