job summary:

Tatum is actively looking for an seasoned Senior Accountant with experience leading and developing a team of Financial Accountants within the property management Industry. This role will serve as the point of contact and oversees the work of the Financial Accountants ensuring of departmental goals are achieved while ensuring the successful onboarding of new third-party clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise staff of Financial Accountants
  • Review financial package prepared by Financial Accountants
  • Serve as main point-of-contact for all third-party clients and work closely cross functional teams on projects and known issues
  • Monitor revenue/expense activity for all properties that fall under the team and make corrections as necessary
  • Manage and implement weekly property payables for check and EFT payments
  • Approve and initiate all bank wires and ACHs based on client's requests
  • Assist in budgeting process
  • Lead process for onboarding/offboarding of new properties/clients
  • Oversee property taxes & property insurance payments
  • Oversee the execution of of year-end financial statements for tax reporting
  • Perform and spearhead all audit requests as necessary
  • Recommend and implement process improvements
  • Hire and train Financial Accountants
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field is required. CPA or CPA track.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Minimum five experience in property management and accounting.
  • Recent real estate background is helpful.
  • Experience with Yardi software and advanced knowledge of Microsof Excel
