• All responsibilities recommended and not required, willing to train
• Be responsible for accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures for shipping and freight balance sheets and income statement accounts (including preparing and/or reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analysis), and coordinating the preparation of monthly management reporting packages.
• Verify shipping and freight actual versus budget explanations with our FP&A and Transportation partners, as well as explain fluctuations from prior period actuals for internal analysis
• Understand and learn our data-heavy systems to manipulate data for reporting purposes.
• Partner with the Transportation, FP&A, and IT partners in system and process optimization projects within the overall shipping and freight process.
• Support the Accounting team in enhancing the Company's existing accounting procedures and SOX controls. Seek and execute opportunities to improve accounting operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Prepare audit schedules requested by the auditors to support our quarterly reviews and annual audit.
• Assist with ad-hoc reports which may require creating new financial reports which analyze different areas of the business and analyze monthly/quarterly financials, including review of variances.

• Have a Bachelor's degree with a major or in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis
• Have 4-5+ years of accounting experience
• Are highly skilled in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup etc.), and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports.
• Have desire to learn and use SQL/databases in daily work.
• Have desire to learn and use Alteryx (or similar data tools) in daily work.
• Possess a strong analytical mind and are comfortable juggling multiple tasks while meeting hard deadlines.
• Are highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Are excited about building and refining processes and controls, and possess a good understanding of SOX requirements.
• Are a team player and have the ability to work independently.
• Are self-motivated, deadline driven and result oriented, a problem solver with a can-do attitude with strong teamwork skills and strong desire to drive changes.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the Company organization.
