Senior Accountant

Currently working with a hyper growth fintech company that was recognized as a Best Place to Work and has been placed on the Forbes FinTech 50 is looking for a Senior Accountant that can support the leadership team with general ledger, month-end close, audit support, technical accounting, and revenue recognition, and a variety of growth projects. Position will have a huge opportunity for growth and position will work with an experienced hiring manager. responsibilities:

Senior Accountant Job Duties

  • In accordance with GAAP, prepare and record journal entries on deferred revenue, deferred rent, stock based compensation and equity, prepaids, capital lease, capitalized software, etc.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to improve or correct processes and systems.
  • Perform month and quarter end close activities, including journal entries, detail and summary level analysis of financial statements, balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Perform technical accounting research and create accounting process on new business initiative. Present findings to management.
  • Build out and maintain internal controls.
  • Partner in growth for a startup organization aiming to disrupt a traditional industry.

Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following

  • 4+ years of relevant progressive experience in corporate/public accounting
  • Self starter that demonstrates the ability to work in a fast paced and growing environment
  • Ambitious over process improvements and own projects such as automating manual workflows, risk analysis and SOX controls, finance systems design and testing, and more.
  • Comfortable being uncomfortable, willing to venture outside of their comfort zone/regular responsibilities.
  • Understanding of US GAAP; Public Accounting Foundation or CPA preferred
  • Highly accurate and detail-oriented
  • Accustomed to multitasking, prioritizing and meeting multiple tight deadlines
  • Curious and enthusiastic, that's not afraid to ask questions and challenge the status quo
  • Adaptable - You have to be comfortable in an ever-changing eco-system of finance and accounting issues and projects.
  • Proficient with NetSuite and Excel preferred.
  • Accounting, Finance or related discipline degree required
