Tatum by Randstad is working with a cutting edge company based in Dallas who is currently in the Pre-IPO stage. The client is building out their accounting department and looking for a Senior Finance Director, Operations. The client focuses on a combination of Healthcare and Technology. Basically they will be the Amazon of their sector of the industry. Candidates with Pharmaceutical, Supply Chain, Healthcare, and Retail inventory would be highly desired. Candidates who have previously been through an IPO-Public will be preferred of course. A fantastic ground floor opportunity!

Job Summary:

Our client is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Sr. Finance Director to be a trusted finance partner to the fulfillment & delivery teams. The role will focus on business partnering, tactical and strategic decision support, financial controllership and cost optimization. The role will require partnership across Finance, FP&A, Payroll, and accounting as well as operations, product, and engineering teams. The Sr. Finance Director will also own the weekly and monthly reporting, monthly forecasting, long term strategic planning, annual planning, variance analysis for monthly board decks, business case development, and ad-hoc projects/analysis as needed.

This role will drive initiatives aimed at optimizing operations, fulfillment, and transportation costs, develop and track performance measures, help design headcount forecasting models, and develop models/mechanisms to improve the unit economics and strategy of the business at the site and market level. The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness and ability to roll up their sleeves, dig deep into the data to identify cost savings opportunities, influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a hyper-growth and rapidly evolving environment.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Oversee financial reporting for your business area. Use data to identify disruptive ideas and provide advice to business leaders across the network.
  • With Controllership as the top priority, identify, resolve, or provide guidance to resolve complex data integrity issues. Improve controls to address financial risk and support frugality.
  • Drive and track continuous improvement and progress toward our organizational goals.
  • Own the consolidated financial story for ops and fulfillment during month-end close, monthly and quarterly business reviews, and forecasting/planning cycles.
  • Ensure common metrics and definitions are being used consistently across the Operations and Finance organizations.
  • Own headcount controllership for the Operations organization.
  • Present ad hoc business analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Partner with stakeholder teams to identify further opportunities.
  • Leading and participating as the key finance stakeholder in cross functional teams
  • Managing the reporting on weekly financial and operational performance metrics
  • Driving long and short term financial planning
  • Provide direction and mentoring to finance team members
  • Driving cross-business analytic projects for senior management, with financial modeling, data mining and presentation support
  • Implement processes, frameworks and systems that allow us to capture and utilize timely and accurate data across the business to make better decisions
  • Build, manage, and develop a high-performing team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of progressive experience and demonstrated growth including a minimum of 5 years in Finance/Operations positions
  • 3+ years of direct management experience
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience with a fast-growing company with scale
  • Proven success serving as a change agent in a high-growth and scale environment
  • High degree of organization and efficiency with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail while delivering against tight deadlines
  • Highest ethical standards, integrity, authenticity, credibility, and character
  • Strong track record of maintaining relationships and communicating with a wide range of partners
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects and tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
  • Prior experience working with private equity or in fast-paced mid-sized companies is a plus.

Base salary will depend upon experience. $250-$280K range with bonus plus significant equity
