Senior Inventory Accountant

Currently working with a hyper growth technology manufacturing company that is looking for a Senior Inventory Accountant to support the accounting & finance functions. This position will own the inventory accounting areas as well as support some cost accounting and the cost of goods sold process. The company plant to expand by 3X over the next year and has big plans overall and this would have great upside and potential. responsibilities:

Duties:

- Prepare month-end journal entries related to inventory and COGs, including on-hand inventory, in-transit inventory, vendor discounts, monthly accruals and account reconciliations.

- Streamline journal entries and reconciliations and learn our data-heavy systems to manipulate data for reporting purposes.

- Reconcile and monitor inventory transactions in the inventory subledger to the General Ledger and work with IT partners to investigate and resolve discrepancies. Ensure accounting is consistent with system and financial reporting.

- Partner with Accounts Payable team on how to streamline shared processes, such as return-to-vendor reconciliations, vendor chargebacks and balances for goods received but not yet invoiced. Additionally, partner with related business teams on process improvement, such as merchandising, warehousing and operations.

- Verification of Inventory actual versus budget explanations with our FP&A partners, as well as explaining fluctuations from prior period actuals for internal analysis.

- Collaborate with our Financial Systems and IT/Engineering team to help build and test key tools for system developments, as well as review proposed changes and assess the impact to inventory processes. Develop test scenarios and plans for UAT as necessary.

- Ad-hoc reporting to analyze different areas of the business and monthly/quarterly financials. - Prepare audit schedules and respond to audit inquiries.

- Have a Bachelor's degree with a major or in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting emphasis

- Have 4+ years of accounting experience. Experience with Inventory accounting is a plus.

- Are highly skilled in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup etc.), and the ability to quickly manipulate and analyze large data sets and build reports.
