Are you a food enthusiast? Do you thrive on working with people whose mission is to improve healthy living? If so, this new opportunity may be for you! We are looking for an innovative leader of Food Research, Development, and Quality to identify some of the best ingredients and products to promote healthy lifestyles The Senior Manager of Research & Development will execute all research and development and ensure processes and procedures are in place for new product expansion.

In collaboration with the culinary team, you will develop processes to ensure ingredients meet the required quality and nutrient standards. The Senior Manager will ensure the company is staying abreast of new industry developments and product innovations. You will analyze and interpret market-driven data, provide research outcomes via market insights, and provide guidance on quality, regulatory, and process improvement

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to cross-functional and development team throughout the product development process

    Identify sources of raw ingredient manufacturers who meet the highest quality standards for organic food production

    Ensure controls and processes are in place for new food products to meet the company's regulatory standards as well as USDA and FDA requirements

    As an active participant in the Research & Development phase, coordinate activities to ensure GSP and GMP safety requirements are consistently in place

    Develop testing and trial programs

    Develop new ingredient lists, cooking/baking instructions, and "pairing" suggestions

    Through studies, research, events, and top influencers, keep up-to-date with latest technology and food product developments

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Engineering, or related field
  • Certifications / Licenses
  • Better Process Control School, Thermal Processing School, Design of Experiments (preferred though not required
  • Expertise/knowledgeable in the areas of product formulation, flavor work, ingredient interaction, analytical methods, statistical design of experiments and analyses of data, retorting.
  • Demonstrated successes in meeting and exceeding targeted goals - cost, quality, & safety.
  • Must have exceptional planning, organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Food plant experience required with knowledge in pouching, bowls, or trays in retorts
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects within budget and schedule requirements
  • Previous experience working with branded concepts a plus.
  • Must be flexible and be able to work well under pressure
  • Proven track record of leadership and strong management skills
  • Ability to be creative and innovative in relation to food production
  • Experience in new product development and experimental design
  • Experience with data analytics and ability to interpret and articulate market trends
  • Strong Project Management skills
