responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  • Perform daily payroll operations
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately
  • Process payroll impact of employee data (new hires, changes)
  • Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll
  • Process 401K, HSA and garnishment payments
  • Reconcile 940/941 tax payments
  • Process manual payments

Employee Experience:

  • Understand all aspects of payroll in regard to payroll laws and regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service to employees: in the areas of compensation, taxes, benefits, time tracking, how to request time off and how to change benefits

Reporting:

  • Develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed
  • Process accurate and timely year end reporting (W-2, W-2c)

Other payroll activities:

  • Participate in local and global projects partnering to drive improvements
  • Workday upgrade testing
  • Complete employment verifications and unemployment insurance information requests Worker's Compensation set-up for new locations
 
qualifications:

Minimum Education Required:

Associates degree in accounting, business, or finance preferred

Minimum Experience

  • 5 years' experience in payroll processing
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Experience of Manufacturing Operations
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Working knowledge of Workday
  • Strong PC knowledge including proficiency in Excel
  • FPC or CPP designation preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Detail-oriented
  • Ability to deal with difficult, sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
  • Strong organizational, time management and prioritization abilities
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and be a team player
