job summary:

Fast growing software analytics company is looking to hire a Senior Revenue Accountant for their team. This individual will report to the Controller and be responsible for owning the full global revenue cycle including month close process, commissions, consolidations, inter-company, accruals, pricing, sales renewals, contract review, analysis fair value of offerings, financial reports, as well as assist with process improvements and automation projects. Ideal candidate will have 3+ years of related experience within software industry, application of ASC 606, and Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance. Netsuite is highly preferred.

responsibilities:
  • Own revenue month-end close process: prepare revenue journal entries, prepare deferred revenue reconciliation, unbilled accounts receivable reconciliation, partner commission reconciliation, prepare revenue by product report and deferred revenue by product waterfall report, and carve-out reports, prepare monthly royalty reports.
  • Own the global revenue finance processes and revenue consolidation
  • Document company revenue policy by product and sales channel; work with Go To Market team to analyze fair value of offerings in accordance with with implementation of ASC 606.
  • Assist in Sales Order quality control and work with Order Management team to ensure accuracy of order processing and to identify revenue risks.
  • Merge revenue arrangements from multi-year orders into combined deals.
  • Review revenue arrangements in NetSuite to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and revenue recognition accounting standards. Periodically review NetSuite item master to ensure accounting attributes accurately set up on newly created items.
  • Assist in process improvement and automation projects.
 
qualifications:
  • 3 years SaaS industry experience, with revenue accounting experience and track record of application of ASC 606.
  • CPA/Big 4 experience strongly preferred
  • Self-starter with ability to set direction and work independently and manage complex issues
  • Highly competent with ERP systems; direct experience with Netsuite strongly preferred.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Direct experience with Salesforce.com
  • Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and timely adherence to deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes and follow them, as well as suggest changes where needed
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to compose effective and accurate correspondence cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to take initiative and build strong, productive relationships
