job summary:

A well-established Consumer Products Manufacturer, is currently looking for their next Head of Supply Chain Management to oversee Procurement, Contract Negotiations, and Logistics strategy. The Senior Manager of Supply Chain will be responsible for the development and execution of all strategic procurement objectives, key initiatives, and tactical plans for the company due to extensive growth and expansion. The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing an enhanced and cost effective supply chain program for the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Initial focus will be on the flow of purchased materials including coordinating with suppliers and vendors to negotiate contracts and conditions
  • Perform a critical leadership role in managing the materials flow transition and direct leadership and overall execution of the plant's material control function
  • Develop and execute a long-term strategy to facilitate improvements for supply chain operations including purchasing, ordering, warehouse operations, vendor negotiations and distribution of material; process improvements, and space and equipment utilization
  • Put metrics in place to measure performance of procurement, warehousing, and logistics functions for the company
  • Identify and implement team training modules, processes, and procedures to ensure performance meets the fluctuating supply chain demands with optimal efficiency
  • Develop enhancing material control systems to improve schedule attainment and shorten production lead times
  • Identify improvements in cost reduction initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of ten years of experience overseeing Distribution Center Operations.
  • At least ten years of management experience in Procurement, Distribution, and Warehousing
  • Experience with WMS implementations and enhancements as well as SAP or ERP systems are key requirements for this role
  • Retail or Consumer Products Sector experience is preferred
  • A solid knowledge of Distribution, Logistics Operations, and Inventory Management
  • Proficiency with all Microsoft Applications
  • At least five years of full P&L experience
