job summary:
Responsible for reviewing programs, processes, claims, documentation and/or files to ensure compliance with internal company requirements and/or agency or government regulations. Functions may include evaluating processes to ensure business standards are followed; providing guidance to lenders and other staff regarding documentation and underwriting requirements; or evaluating in-process, closed, cancelled credit applications, insurance claims, accounts, files and/or processes to ensure company standards are met. Ensures corrective action on exceptions and problems identified, required data is input and proper procedures were followed.

responsibilities:
- Prepare financial statement footnote disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Participate in corporate accounting activities, including account reconciliations and month end closing activities
- Review financial reporting packages prepared by business units for compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Participate in streamlining / process improvement initiatives
- Participate in Internal Audit compliance activities
- Help coordinate the audit process, including year-end audit requests with the external auditors
- Work cross-functionally to assist with company's internal control testing and documentation
- Partner with corporate accounting on maintenance of new accounting guidance
qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA strongly preferred, or on CPA track
- 2-5 years of progressively more responsible work experience in general accounting. Public accounting experience preferred.
- Systems experience including SAP and HFM
- Solid time / project management skills, demonstrated experience balancing multiple tasks and proven ability to complete projects timely and accurately
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data analysis tools
