job summary:

Our client is in need of a Senior Manager of Corporate Accounting and this role will report to the VP of Corporate Accounting. The company is based in DFW and has a good reputation for the success of its business and the organization's culture. They have a healthy compensation plan that includes a base, bonus and equity award, and the company has done a good job attracting and retaining individuals who came out of public accounting. In this position you will assist in the management of the periodic financial reporting in compliance with United States GAAP and provide support for the day-to-day accounting processes of cash management, accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and general ledger accounting activities plus other projects as required. The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organized and a strong manager.

responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation and review of the monthly consolidated and subsidiary GAAP
  • financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Keep abreast of latest GAAP accounting and SEC reporting guidance.
  • Direct organization and filing of supporting documentation.
  • Review, prepare and post journal entries.
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of detailed spreadsheets to support various
  • journal entries.
  • Work with internal departments and affiliated companies to ensure all related activity is
  • recorded accurately and timely.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and reviews of the financial statements, benefit plans, etc.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting, special projects or tasks as assigned.
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Active CPA certification.
  • At least 5 years of accounting management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing staff accountants and accounting specialists.
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel ® .
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud or similar accounting platform preferred.
