job summary:

Exciting Opportunity to join Accounting team at a global organization in Baltimore area! This role will allow to build analytical and technical skills and grow within the company. Staff Accountant will provide accounting services for multiple divisions and will be an essential contributor within a team.

responsibilities:
  • Month-end close:
    • Record journal entries including accruals, amortization of prepaids and depreciation expense.
    • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts; research and resolve discrepancies.
    • Account for inventory and work in process accounts, ensuring accurate product costs.
    • Reconcile intercompany accounts.
    • Responsible for maintaining fixed assets for assigned divisions.
    • Prepare documents and interpret financial information regarding cost improvements.
    • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
    • Assist with year-end audit and other audits and inquiries as required.
  • Reconcile cash accounts daily.
  • Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, and revenues.
  • Assist with processing of weekly payment run and serve as backup for bank portal input.
  • Add new vendors to ERP and banking portal and run compliance check.
  • Code vendor invoices to ensure accurate accounting treatment for multiple divisions
  • Serve as back up for Corporate Card Program Administrator
  • Prepare monthly workers compensation and health insurance reports
  • Processing of credit insurance reporting

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • Public accounting experience or CPA preferred.
  • At least 3 years of accounting experience: manufacturing experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with enterprise level general ledger and order to cash management software; ERP system a plus
  • Requires high level of initiative; ability to work independently and within teams
