job summary:

One of our top clients located in Monmouth County, NJ is looking to hire a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will come out of manufacturing or consumer goods.

responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
  • Maintain fixed assets and inventory.
  • Prepare elimination and consolidation entries.
  • Record and maintain intercompany balances.
  • Prepare and review actual to budget variance analyses.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Support daily cash reporting and analysis, including participating in cash forecasting.
  • Satisfy sales tax reporting and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
  • Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
  • Manages special projects as required, such as fiscal year end audit, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, and short term projects as assigned by the CFO
 
qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance

1-5 years accounting experience in manufacturing or consumer goods

Familiar with Sox and audit requirements

Excellent Excel skills
