Tatum, by Randstad is working with one of our Real Estate clients who is looking to hire a Supervisor - Corporate Accounting (Joint Venture). This position will provide cross-functional Accounting-wide learning experience within Accounting and Financial Reporting functions of an S&P 500 REIT Company. The ideal candidate will have the unique opportunity to gain exposure in the various Accounting and Financial Reporting functions, including but not limited to, Property Accounting, Lease Accounting, Transactions, Investment Accounting, Real Estate Development, SEC Financial Reporting, and other functional Accounting groups.

responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

Will employ a number of duties in the areas of accounting, project support, and a variety of administrative duties consisting but not limited to the following:

Accounting Operations - Assist with the oversight of the Accounting Department. Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for reviewing the day-to-day accounting tasks performed by the staff such as journal entries, CAM reconciliations, and account reconciliations
  • Review monthly JV portfolio analyses for the Accounting Reporting Package on a GAAP basis for executive management review
  • Act as a liaison between Accounting and Asset Services team by assisting with various ad-hoc requests such as property operating results, leasing data, operating budgets and resolving tenant inquiries
  • Review the annual budgets and year-end CAM reconciliations
  • Responsible for loan administration, including the review of debt compliance and on-going lender correspondence
  • Research, document, and implement new technical accounting matters such as lease accounting, consolidation accounting, real estate, and joint ventures, etc.
  • Participate in and spearhead ad hoc projects such as process improvement initiatives and department and team goals

Investor Relations

  • Serve as primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including joint venture partners and building and maintaining partnership relationship
  • Present executive management and JV partners with cash flow projections and managing capital account funding requirements and distributions
  • Monitor asset performance against budgets, updating projections as necessary and communicate fluctuations to external stakeholders

Financial Reporting

  • Review monthly joint venture partner packages, including financial analytics, fluctuation analyses, operational overviews and executive summaries
  • Prepare stand-alone annual, audited financial statements and coordinating with external auditors to complete annual audits
  • Stay up to date with new accounting pronouncements and impact to joint venture financial statements
  • Assist with the preparation of various financial reporting analyses for the Supplemental,10Q, and 10K filings

Supervisor/Administrative Responsibilities - Directly supervise staff employees and carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

  • General oversight of property accounting
  • Train employees
  • Plan, assign and direct work, and appraise performance
  • Address concerns and solve problems
 
qualifications:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 4+ years of accounting experience, 3+ years of public accounting experience and 1 year of private experience preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Public Accounting experience is highly preferred
  • Public commercial real estate experience preferred
  • Proficient in Technical US GAAP Accounting
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Technical accounting research skills desirable
  • Experience in financial statement preparation and general ledger accounting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work, and meet deadlines

This will start out as a Hybrid role - 2/3 days in the office. Must be vaccinated.
