The Corporate Tax Accountant assists with various responsibilities of the Tax Department such as coordinating the preparation of corporation income tax returns, preparing quarterly estimated tax payments, and calculating the income tax provision.

responsibilities:

- Assists in the preparation and review of federal, state, and local tax returns for large U.S. multistate company (multistate income tax returns)

- Assists in the preparation of the U.S. income tax provision and journal entries under ASC 740

- Compute quarterly estimated tax payments and prepare payment requests for corporate, composite, and withholding tax liabilities

- Reconciles general ledger accounts

- Responds to notices and inquiries from internal and external sources

- Researches developments in tax legislation to maintain compliance and identify tax savings opportunities and document findings

- Supports special projects and assist with ad hoc tax assignments as needed in all areas of tax

 
qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred

- 2 - 3 years' experience in public accounting or within a corporate tax department

- CPA license or candidate preferred

- Systems experience is a plus (Hyperion, Peoplesoft, RIA Checkpoint Tax Research, Tax provision software)

- Candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and willingness to learn

- Candidate should be detail oriented and organized with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) applications required
