job summary:

This is a Corporate Tax Manager position north of Boston with a complex, growing company. This Tax Manager position requires a well rounded professional with a wide range of experience to be responsible for income tax provisions, tax reporting, compliance, tax research, forecasting and other tax related projects.

responsibilities:

The Tax Manager will be responsible for

  • Preparation, review of the quarterly and annual tax provisions
  • Assist with tax planning objectives
  • Ensure income tax compliance
  • Research complex tax issues and provide guidance
  • Apply knowledge to understand potential tax issues and recognize, communicate potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy
  • Process improvements
  • Assist with income tax audits (federal, state, local )
  • Mentor, motivate and develop staff
 
qualifications:

Experience

  • Strong background of ASC 740 required and preparation of quarterly tax provisions in accordance with GAAP
  • 5 + years of combined experience as a tax professional in public accounting and/or private industry
  • BS in Accounting and either a Masters in Tax or CPA license is preferred
  • Excellent project management skills required
  • Strong skill set in Microsoft Excel
  • Public accounting experience desirable
  • Experience with tax accounting for mergers and acquisitions a plus
