job summary:

The US Finance Manager is one of three new positions created to support North American Operations. The position will be responsible for multiple work sites with annual revenue of approximately $50-$100 million. By managing multiple professionals responsible for corporate administrative functions at the sites, the US Finance Manager will be expected to support the operations under their control with excellent transactional efficiency while maintaining a high standard of accounting accuracy and providing operational analysis to the executive team.

responsibilities:
  • Actively manage the administrative team at a variety of sites suggesting and implementing efficiency improvements
  • Manage P&L accounting at the sites consistent with US GAAP. Not a technical role, but expected to have a high level of understanding of accounting
  • Manage the development of the annual budget for their sites and forecasts as necessary
  • Provide financial analysis of site operations explaining the results and reporting on an ad hoc and regular basis to the executive team
  • Partnering with site management, North American executive leadership, and other corporate functions to execute important initiatives and projects
  • Act as a partner to site leadership and North American operating executives identifying trends, risks, opportunities and recommendations for improvement. Seek out, understand and monitor operating drivers that impact P&L
  • Develop a hands-on understanding of our accounting system (Sage) and other relevant systems
  • Ensure that company policies and practices around key workstreams like procure to pay, capital expenditures and maintenance are followed and managed properly
  • Work to assure a timely and accurate monthly close in collaboration with the corporate accounting team and provide assistance with the annual audit as needed
  • Coordinate with internal auditors for site audits
  • Assure with highest level of compliance that all transactions are properly approved and entered in the relevant period
  • Understand client contract terms and billing procedures to assure completeness, timeliness, and accuracy of billings
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or relevant experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years post-graduation finance generalist related work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively overcome objections and communicate with people at all levels
  • Superior numerical and analytical skills
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel including ability to work with large sets of data
  • In-depth knowledge and demonstrated ability to use automated accounting systems
  • Organized, flexible and easily adaptable to changing conditions and diverse teams
  • Frequent travel to several locations is required
  • Ability to work well in high pressure situations in order to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous simultaneous priorities
  • High energy, high ownership of work product
  • Must have a mix of attention to detail and a sense of urgency/results orientation
  • Ability to approach problems from different perspectives in order to suggest and implement solutions
