job summary:

Tatum is currently working with a fast growing multifamily real estate company in Orange County who is looking for an experienced Vice President of Acquisitions, National Multi Family Portfolio to join the team. This will be a full time, direct hire opportunity that will report to one of the company's Principals and would be responsible for the following:

responsibilities:
  • Sourcing and orchestrating all aspects of deals from escrow to close
  • Develop and maintain a network of local broker and lender relationships to drive the supply pipeline
  • Sound understanding of local and national policy related to real estate and other factors impacting the multifamily real estate sector, planning, existing short-term rental regulations and building code
  • Finance deals with private and institutional investors (e.g. Freddie/Fannie Loans, Bridge Loans, Private Capital, Preferred Equity, Joint Venture Partnerships, Fund Raising, etc.)
  • Hire, develop and direct a national acquisitions team

Other skills required for the role are:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on active listening and troubleshooting
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively in both written and spoken form in a way that is understandable to audiences of varied real estate experience
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
 
qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have at least 20 years of progressive multifamily real estate acquisitions experience, an entrepreneurial disposition and desire to take ownership of the acquisition team's development and direction and processes therein. Other requirements include:

  • Bachelor's Degree, Real Estate, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
  • National Multifamily acquisitions experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience hiring, developing and leading a national acquisitions team
