job summary:

Tatum by randstad is partnering with a local community bank, north of Boston, on their search for a VP Credit Officer to manage the credit analyst team, set up and maintain policies & procedures, and assist in the underwriting and structuring of deals.

responsibilities:
  • Underwrite and structure credit requests for new and existing construction loans, one to four family investment loans, C&I loans and other commercial real estate loans through the analysis of financial statements, projections, cash flows in compliance with the Bank's credit policy.
  • Recommend changes to loan terms and structure, loan covenants, guarantor and collateral structure, risk ratings, etc. Identifies need for additional collateral/rebalancing of loans, updated appraisals/evaluations, updated financial statements
  • Prepare loan presentations and ensure accuracy of financial and other analyses.
  • Manage renewals, modifications, annual or interim reviews, risk ratings, loan covenants, collateral monitoring and review exceptions and financial spreads
  • Coach, mentor, train and develop team. Assumes Credit Analyst responsibilities as needed
  • Keeps abreast of all regulatory issues and makes sure the bank is in compliance
 
qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a Business, Economic, Accounting / relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial credit/underwriting experience; or a minimum of 5 years commercial loan administration
  • Formally credit trained
  • strong analytical, financial statement, tax returns analysis skills
  • Experience in sound credit decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding time management skills
